刚收到的一封email, title是‘Human Rights in China Awareness Week Nov 13 – 18’。我查了一下,发件人是Brown的一个本科生,邮件内容如下,看来Brown的右翼势力还是蛮强的,不知道那个89跑出来的‘China’s greatest poet’Huang Xiang是不是我见过的那个:
Dear Friend,

Next week is Human Rights in China Awareness Week (Nov 13 – 18th).
This week will center on raising awareness of human rights issues in contemporary China, focusing on the Freedom of Expression, the democracy movement, the freedom of speech, and the freedom of religion; with a special emphasis on the persecution of Tibetan Buddhism and Falun Gong.
Through the impact of globalization, the United States’ ties with China are becoming stronger than China. However, while contact is increasing internationally, we feel that the economic gains should not overshadow current civil and political realities and the persecution and state of fear that many in China have endured for decades. In raising awareness of grave human rights abuses in China, we hope to stimulate constructive dialogue on what can be done and promote solidarity in protecting basic rights to which all are entitled.
We have esteemed speakers Professor Xu Wenli, cofounder of the Chinese Democratic Party; Huang Xiang, China’s greatest poet in exile; Dr. Wang Wenyi, the Falun Gong activist who was arrested for demonstrating against China’s persecution of Falun Gong at Chinese President Hu Jintao’s visit to the White House last April; and the Honorable Tenzin Thutop, and the Honorable Lobsang Gyaltsen, monks of HH the 14th Dalai Lama coming to speak.

FYI Wang Wenyi is the lead researcher for Epoch Times NY\’s live organ harvestign allegation. This allegation has since been debunked by both US government and independent anti-CCP Chinese activist investigation:
